I hope you already know that all foods should come with labels and it is really illegal for food not to come with a it. People should know what they are buying. However, there are a lot of us who still feel a bit confused while looking at labels, you are welcome to know the way to read the following labels:

  • calories

This stands for the number of calories contained in one serving. If you see such a phrase as “calorie free” it means that the product has less than 5 calories per serving.

Coconut Strawberry Cake

  • low fat

It means that a product contains less then 3g of fat.

  • cholesterol free

Actually, it doesn’t mean that the following product doesn’t have any cholesterol at all, it means that it contains less then 2mg of cholesterol.

  • fat/sugar free

This means that this product or food has less then 0.5g in each serving.

  • low calorie

This contains less than 40 calories per serving.

Bon appetite!
